BrainPOP features Science, Maths, English, Design and Technology, Humanities, PSHE and Citizenship subjects that correspond to National Curriculum subjects for pupils in Years 3-8. Each topics contain a 2-5 minute Animated Movie and an Interactive Quiz.

The site is designed for Years 3-8 but we have users that range from Years 1 to 11. BrainPOP can be used for students of all learning styles and apabilities.

In our experience, teachers use BrainPOP in a variety of ways: to introduce topics, motivate learners, provide an overview of content, and as an integrated part of text-based learning. [X] How do I reference a BrainPOP movie or FYI item for my research report?

To reference an individual movie, or a factoid from the FYI section of that movie, you can write it like this. The format is: "Movie Topic."BrainPOP.co.uk Date Viewed. .

For example, to reference the Pirates movie after watching it on 1st September, 2006, the reference would be:

"Pirates." BrainPOP.co.uk. 1 September, 2006. http://www.brainpop.co.uk/humanities/worldhistory/pirates/.
