As Diamond Jubilee events happen countrywide this weekend we thought we’d jump on the band wagon (just in case you’re not sick of hearing about it yet!).
You’ll be delighted to know we’ve gone and made our Queen movie free for the week.
Join Tim and Moby as they explain why, while she may not be a rock group, Queen Elizabeth II is famous pretty much all over the world.
They describe the many intricacies of being Queen including what it means to be Head of State; the difference between queen and government; how many countries are in the Commonwealth; and the conflicting views of the Republicans versus the Monarchists.
You’ll also learn about all her different duties: why the Queen visits overseas countries; why she frequently hosts garden parties; and how she honours those who have been of service to the country.
After you’ve watched the movie, try the Queen quiz and see how well you do. We’ve also got the FYI for you to enjoy further reading – did you know that the Queen doesn’t need a passport? There are also brand new activities added just last week for you to try: Activities.
She’s reigned through six decades of enormous social change and development. Pretty cool when you think about it, no?
So celebrate 60 years of good old Queen Elizabeth II with Tim, Moby and 4 minutes and 35 seconds of diamond standard animation: The Queen.
